La palabra sueca ‘ogooglebar’ (‘ingoogleable’) fue eliminada de la lista de neologismos después de que la compañía Google presentara una solicitud para cambiar su definición, según el Consejo de la Lengua Sueca.
La palabra ‘ingoogleable’, que trajo aires de discordia entre Suecia y el gigante de Internet, no figurará entre los términos recientemente incorporados a la lengua sueca.
Junto con esta nueva palabra, el diciembre pasado entraron oficialmente en el léxico sueco alrededor de 40 nuevos vocablos. Todos los años, el organismo regulador del idioma sueco publica en una lista los neologismos que se han hecho más populares entre los hablantes, lo que sirve de indicador de cómo cambian la sociedad y la lengua.
Los últimos meses Google ha estado insistiendo en que el Consejo de la Lengua Sueca revisara su decisión acerca del neologismo ‘ogooglebar’. Según la definición aprobada por el Consejo, el término significa ‘algo que no se puede encontrar en Internet con un motor de búsqueda’. Desde la institución afirman que Google les mandó un correo electrónico proponiéndoles otra definición, concretamente, ‘algo que no se puede encontrar en Internet utilizando Google’, lo que los académicos consideran una intromisión de la compañía en asuntos lingüísticos. Tras discusiones en el Consejo, los escandinavos decidieron eliminar la palabra para evitar una batalla legal que podría ser larga, según las autoridades suecas.
