El jurado del caso también encontró al exjugador de fútbol americano culpable de posesión ilegal de municiones. Por esto podría tener una pena máxima de dos años de prisión.

La muerte de Odin Llyod, por la que se le acusa a Hernández, ocurrió en Bristol, Connecticut, el 17 de junio de 2013. Su cuerpo sin vida fue encontrado con 5 tiros de una pistola calibre .45 días después del asesinato en un parque industrial de North Attleborough, Massachusetts.
