Un comisionado de protección de datos de Luxemburgo está investigando a Skype por su supuesta colaboración secreta con la Agencia de Seguridad Nacional de EE.UU. (NSA), según el diario británico ‘The Guardian’.
Considerada en su momento como herramienta segura de chat fuera del alcance de espionaje, Skype se enfrenta ahora a posibles sanciones penales y administrativasuna en ese país. Esta investigación se puso en marcha a raíz de las filtraciones del exanalista de la NSA, Edward Snowden, según las cuales Microsoft enseñó a la NSA a acceder a correos electrónicos encriptados.
Cuando Microsoft adquirió Skype, por 8.500 millones en 2011, triplicó algunos tipos de flujo de datos a la NSA, de acuerdo con documentos secretos a los que tuvo acceso ‘The Guardian’.
