El fundador del portal Megaupload, Kim Dotcom, ha demandado por más de 4 millones de dólares al Gobierno de Nueva Zelanda por redada agresiva y espionaje ilegal.
Kim Dotcom presentó la denuncia ante el juez la pasada primavera, y esta semana ha trascendido su contenido publicado por la revista ‘New Zealand Herald’. El fundador de Megaupload denuncia que la policía se mostró demasiado agresiva e invasiva cuando llevó a cabo la redada en la masión de Kim Dotcom en 2012. Además, la defensa de Dotcom insiste en que su cliente fue puesto bajo vigilancia antes de la redada.
“El primer ministro de Nueva Zelanda rechazo una investigación independiente sobre el espionaje ilegal”, dijo Dotcom al portal Ars Tecnica. “Ahora mi tarea es descubrir en los tribunales la verdad sobre la Oficina Gubernamental de Seguridad en las Comunicaciones (GCSB, por su siglas en inglés) usando X-Keyscore, Prism y la nube de espionaje Cinco Ojos contra los neozelandeses. La verdad saldrá a la luz”, dijo.
Kim Dotcom acusa a la policía de incautarse una cantidad excesiva de propiedad durante el ataque, incluyendo fuentes de alimentación, conmutadores de red, así como joyas pertenecientes a su esposa.
Según la legislación de Nueva Zelanda vigente entonces, la GCSB no tenía derecho a espiar a los residentes de Nueva Zelanda, sino solo a los extranjeros. En aquel momento Dotcom ya gozaba de permiso de residencia en el país.
Dotcom se encuentra actualmente en libertad condicional y desde enero del 2012 hace frente a un complicado proceso judicial en el transcurso del cual han aflorado muchas irregularidades, entre ellas, el recurso a órdenes ilegales para su detención.
