Las cámaras web de las computadoras MacBook Pro pueden espiar a sus usuarios sin que ellos lo noten, según ponen de manifiesto varios casos revelados recientemente.
En uno de los últimos casos un ‘hacker’ reprogramó el MacBook de una estudiante estadounidense y le envió fotos que hizo a través de su cámara web, según escribe ‘The Washington Post’. El FBI rastreó al ‘hacker’, que resultó ser el compañero de clase de la joven y que reconoció su culpa este octubre.
El estudio del investigador informático Stephen Checkoway revela que la gente puede ser espiada a través de las cámaras web de Macbooks y iMacs fabricadas antes de 2008. Con la ayuda del programa Remote Administration Tool (RAT), Checkoway reprogramó el chip de las cámaras de tal manera que el indicador de luz no se enciende cuando la cámara está operativa.
