Los empleados de Facebook han empezado a mudarse a la nueva sede de la compañía, que es una expansión de su edificio principal en Menlo Park (California, EE.UU.).
Diseñado por el arquitecto Frank Gehry, quien es también el autor del Walt Disney Concert Hall en Los Ángeles y el Museo de Guggenheim en España, el nuevo edificio es un proyecto macizo cuya construcción se realizó durante varios años.
“No quiso que fuera excesivamente diseñado. Debía ser flexible para responder a la siempre cambiante naturaleza de su negocio, que facilitara la colaboración y que no se impusiera a su cultura abierta y transparente”, dijo Gehry describiendo a ‘Business Insider’ su colaboración con Mark Zuckerberg.
Aunque el recinto aún no ha sido finalizado, los empleados ya han comenzado a trasladarse a sus nuevas oficinas.
Extendiéndose en unos 40.000 metros cuadrados, en el recinto futurista cabrán 2.800 personas.
Una de las cosas notables es un jardín, levantado sobre el enorme techo del edificio.
