El juego suicida conocido como ‘Momo’ llega al Reino Unido y las autoridades advierten sobre un mayor peligro, que no se ha reportado en los medios de comunicación, que sugiere que piratas cibernéticos estarían utilizando el macabro juego para robar información digital.
La Policía de la localidad de Craigavon, en Irlanda del Norte, anunció a través de su página de Facebook que, de acuerdo a las investigaciones, se cree que el reto de ‘Momo’ está dirigida por ‘hackers’ que lo utilizan para recopilar información de niños y adolescentes en WhatsApp.
Las autoridades también aconsejaron a los padres prestar especial atención al contenido en línea al que acceden sus hijos e insistieron en que los menores no deben compartir información personal con desconocidos. Además, recomendaron activar la función de control parental en los dispositivos de los niños.

¿De qué se trata?
‘Momo’ es una imagen grotesca de una mujer con ojos saltones, una sonrisa distorsionada y patas de pollo. Según reportes de diferentes medios, ‘Momo’ aparece de repente en la lista de contactos en el servicio de mensajería de WhatsApp de niños y adolescentes, para hostigarlos con imágenes violentas e instarles a que se autolesionen o de otro modo los amenazan con hacerles daño a sus familiares.
El desafío de ‘Momo’, que se hizo conocido mundialmente a través de Facebook, ha acabado con la vida de tres menores en Colombia y Argentina.
