El 27 de diciembre del año pasado, un autobús que viajaba de Puebla a Cancún fue asaltado a su paso por Coatzacoalcos de Veracruz. Dos hombres armados despojaron de sus pertenencias a los pasajeros y violaron a una adolescente de 17 años.
En octubre de 2014, otro autobús fue asaltado en el tramo entre Acayucan y Jaltipan, también en Veracruz, y también una joven fue violada.
