Qwant fue producido en Francia y constituye un sistema de evaluación de tráfico autónomo e independiente de Google, pero no presta mucha atención a guardar los datos personales de los usuarios.
YaCy es un motor de búsqueda descentralizado, cuya eficiencia depende del número de usuarios, pero todavía no es muy apto para los usuarios comunes.
El propio Epelboin publica en ‘Atlantico’, que opta por Qwant e Ixquick para sus investigaciones periodísticas cuando tiene que buscar información sensible.
