Un oficial de mantenimiento del metro de Madrid encontró mientras revisaba un vagón una cartera de bolsillo que contenía un cheque por valor de dos millones de dólares.
En la tarde del miércoles el tren fue retirado de la circulación tras detectarse que una de las puertas del convoy no cerraba correctamente.
La compañía, siguiendo el protocolo establecido, mandó el vagón a las cocheras para que fuera revisado. Allí uno de los oficiales, mientras revisaba las puertas, vio que en el hueco de éstas había una cartera de piel marrón que impedía su cierre, informa ‘El Mundo’.
Al retirar la cartera y comprobar su contenido, encontró el carné de conducir de un ciudadano californiano, varias tarjetas de crédito y un cheque a nombre de la misma persona por valor de dos millones de dólares.
El operario puso el hallazgo inmediatamente en conocimiento de sus superiores. Más tarde, a través del departamento de seguridad del metro, lo hicieron llegar a la Policía, que se hizo cargo de la cartera. Aunque el propretario ha sido identificado, aún no ha sido localizado.
