A raíz de este descubrimiento, la policía emprendió una nueva investigación y la búsqueda de los sospechosos, hasta que encontró la dirección de la chica, que sometió a vigilancia, y donde finalmente apareció Rodríguez. Una vez detenido, el sospechoso ni siquiera negó su identidad.
