La empresa suiza Punkt. ha presentado en la feria MWC 2019, celebrada del 25 al 28 de febrero en Barcelona (España), un aparato diferente de la mayoría de los móviles contemporáneos, que permitirá comunicarse y a la vez desintoxicarse de la necesidad de estar siempre en línea. El MP02 Mobile Phone no tiene ni una sola ‘app’ y dispone de teclas como los antiguos móviles, de manera que se parece más a los teléfonos ‘ladrillo’ de hace quince años que a los modernos ‘smartphone’. Pero, al mismo tiempo, varias características lo diferencian de los viejos modelos.
El dispositivo destaca por su diseño ergonómico y por ser muy compacto. Pesa solo 100 gramos, casi dos veces menos que el iPhone XS, y tiene un grosor de 14,4 milímetros, 117 de longitud y 51,3 milímetros de ancho. Las dimensiones de la pantalla de 2 pulgadas son de solo 320×240.
Su carcasa de policarbonato está recubierta con un revestimiento durable texturizado. El aparato tiene el grado de protección IP52.
El aspecto minimalista del móvil es obra de Jasper Morrison, uno de los diseñadores industriales más famosos del mundo. “Desde los componentes hasta la estética, es un producto totalmente nuevo por dentro y por fuera, con una interfaz de usuario contextual especialmente llamativa”, cita sus palabras el sitio web de Punkt.
Sus posibilidades también difieren de las de un teléfono móvil ‘tradicional’: el MP02 Mobile Phone dispone del módem 4G y, a pesar de que no tiene navegador ni otras ‘apps’ que se conecten con Internet, puede utilizarse como ‘hotspot’, es decir, para conectar terceros dispositivos a la Red.

A diferencia de los móviles de teclas del pasado, Punkt. no ha creado el ‘software’ desde cero. El dispositivo funciona a través de una versión reducida y adaptada del sistema operativo Android 8.1. Además, cuenta con un conjunto de tecnologías de seguridad de Blackberry, uno de los productores más competentes en el mercado de los aparatos móviles seguros.
Actualmente el teléfono está disponible para la compra en la tienda en línea de Punkt. El ‘detox’ prometido por el productor no cuesta poco, ya que el teléfono se vende por 329 euros, unos 375 dólares.
Este no es el primer teléfono que produce la compañía suiza. En 2015 Punkt. fabricó el MP01, predecesor directo del modelo actual, que obtuvo reacciones positivas.
