La aeronave viajaba de Barcelona a Dusseldorf y se dice que el accidente ocurrió etre Barcelonnette y Digne.
La compañía, que es una subsidiaria de bajo costo de Lufthansa, admitió en su cuenta de Twitter estar al tanto de un “incidente”, pero aún no confirmó la información.
“Tragedia”
En una comparecencia en TV el presidente francés Francois Hollande dijo: “Las condiciones del accidente, que no han sido aclaradas, nos hacen pensar que no hay sobrevivientes”.
También señaló que el hecho era “una tragedia” y expresó su solidaridad con las víctimas y sus familiares.
Explicó asimismo que el hecho ocurrió en “una zona de difícil acceso” y agregó que harán todo lo posible para averiguar lo ocurrido.
El primer ministro francés, Manuel Valls, indicó que envió al ministro del Interior Bernard Cazeneuve al lugar de los hechos y que se estableció un grupo ministerial para coordinar el incidente.
Tanto Airbus como Germanwings han dicho que están conscientes de los informes pero no los han confirmado.
