La renovada aplicación de mensajería instantánea creada por la empresa suiza Myriad puede debilitar la posición de Facebook Messenger y WhatsApp en México y toda América Latina. Con su nueva imagen, ‘msngr’ va contra los gigantes estadounidenses.
La empresa suiza Myriad ha relanzado este mes su aplicación de mensajería instantánea deslindándose de operadores mexicanos como Telcel.
“Esta es una evolución de nuestra aplicación. Sacamos el nombre del operador y ahora quedamos como un servicio Over The Top (OTT), independiente, que funciona en cualquier red y la podrán descargar de las tiendas de aplicaciones”, dijo el director general de ‘msngr’ Latinoamérica, Pompilio Roselli citado por la CNN.
Dicha aplicación tiene 30 millones de usuarios en México y 50 millones en toda América Latina. Roselli estima que para finales del 2014 la aplicación llegará a más de 50 millones de usuarios en México. “No solo existe Whatsapp y Facebook. Y no las dejarán de usar, van a usar esas y la nuestra también”, dijo.
Durante los dos últimos años cada teléfono vendido por Telcel tenía predeterminada la aplicación ‘msngr Telcel’, pero este método tampoco ayudaba a competir con las aplicaciones más populares como WhatsApp, que concentra al 88% de los usuarios de los servicios de mensajería.
